Sustainability Policy
Orion Trek Voyages (OTV) is committed to the implementation of a sustainability management system that shows concern for the environment and society. Our aim is a reduction of the negative environmental and social impacts of all our activities and participation in the local economy by giving preference to local goods and services and using accommodations owned by locals. We are also committed to helping our clients and partners to do the same.
Principles
Our Sustainability Policy is based upon the following principles:
• To make sure all our activities are legal and conducted responsibly with no negative side effects.
• To provide a healthy, safe and supportive working environment for our team.
• To sensitize our supply chain and work with partners on sustainability.
• To include the OTV team in internal sustainability management and increase awareness towards more responsible behaviour.
• To ensure clients and suppliers are aware of our sustainability policy and to encourage them to adopt sound sustainability management practices.
• To review, annually report, and to continually strive to improve our sustainability performance.
Practical steps
In order to put these principles into practice we will:
Purchasing and consumption of resources
• Minimize our use of paper and other office consumables, for example by using all paper on both sides and using more sustainable types of ink.
• Reuse printed-paper for the fax machine.
• Minimize waste wherever possible and promote recycling.
• Reduce the energy consumption of office equipment by replacing old equipment with more environmentally friendly models.
• Minimize our use of air conditioning and turn off lights when not in use, whilst ensuring that our lights are low-energy usage.
• Ensure computers are on power saving mode and that emails include a signature dedicated to nature protection.
• Minimize our water use and ensure that wastewater is responsibly disposed of.
• Purchase products for housekeeping, such as cleaning products that have sustainability certification or are more environmentally friendly.
Sustainable supply chain management
• Give preference to more sustainable transport options whenever feasible, both for our employees and clients.
• Use accommodation which has international sustainability certification or, if not available, give preference to accommodation providers that are committed to improving their sustainability performance.
• Develop innovative travel experiences that use sustainability as their base and refrain from offering activities with negative environmental and social impacts.
Working practices and advice to clients
• Participate in voluntary work and events related to social and environmental organizations.
• Avoid unnecessary business travel and give preference to more sustainable transport options when this is not possible.
• Communicate to our clients and suppliers the actions that we have taken and support them to more responsible behaviour.
• Ensure that all employees at OTV take into account sustainability issues when advising clients.

• Ensure that product and marketing information is clear and concise, whilst striving to that exceed client expectations.
